Has been ages

It has been ages since I posted,, I mean to, I plan to and then things happen!!
I have slowed down with work commitments and now only work on occasion, I say it is when my stash needs some stocking up! I am slowly catching up on ufos and even managed to get this one finished. Dan (8yr) has been hanging out for his quilt and asking if I had finished all the other quilts (I wish!) and would I be starting on his. Naturally I had nearly finished it, so he was quite gobsmacked when he got it today!! Now,, just the others in the bucket list!!!

It was interesting to read Vicki's blog to see that she has been interviewed for an american quilting magazine,, way to go Vicki!!
To make the blog look good, I decided to tidy my sewing room as well, all those comments about an untidy room made me feel realllllly baaaad (only kidding!) so here is my new room!!

Well, someone somewhere suggested that we put up photos of our sewing/craft rooms!!! Gosh, what an idea!! I have been waiting for ages for the cleaning fairy to come in, but heard she has gone on a cruise, so figured you would accept 'my space' just as it is!!!
You cant see my main stash hole, it is behind the cd rack, I guess I should have taken a photo of it but didnt!!!! Instead,,,
I took a photo of my new stash hole,,,,mmmmm, might need something to stop all the materials falling out?? Any suggestions?? Not too sure just where it will go at this stage,,, guessing I might need to tidy up and find some space,,, gawd!!!!

Catching up with a few things,,, got April's row done, now I suppose May's is ready to go as well. On a roll, so will keep going!!

Put the hexie quilt on the spare bed just to see how it looks!! Grand!

Eventually got Rosa's quilt finished,, her Grandma will take it over to England on Tuesday,, the koalas are on the backing, just to remind Rosa she has Aussie blood in her!!

This photo is of a basket full of doileys and old linen that I picked up for a song,, was even a hexie table cloth amongst some real finds!!

I have joined up with the medallion swap again this year,, this is my center for this time!! I had finished it, packed it etc and then downloaded the photo when I saw...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, out it came, some reverse sewing happened before it got repacked a

Just a bigger view

I was very lucky to buy this at our local auction center, I am not usually into hexagons but do admire this one. It is all hand sewn, every bit of it,, it isn't quilted but probably doesn't need it and is huge!! No name on it which is a pity, just a reminder for me to make sure I put my name on mine!

This is the tuffet I received from Maggie, it so bright which I love!

Have made a couple of tuffets for a swap on the forum.

First picture is the one I will send, and the second has the first on I did and have kept it for myself. You can see the legs didn't hold up too well with that one, so didn't think it would last in the post!!!

Got 12 of these blocks done, just not too sure how I will put them together and for what! Should be catching up with UFO, instead of starting something new!!!

Trying to get myself organised and catch up with things. The hearts are the row by row that I told you about in the previous post, still trying to catch up to Marg though!!

This will be the second row of the challenge quilt that Marg (House of Margarita) and I are doing. Needless to say, I have only done the one block while she has finished the row!!!

A friend of mine suggested that we do a row by row quilt together (House of Margarita) using only what we already have in our stash,, sounds easy enough? Guess picking the fabrics was easy,, I started making one of the blocks and nearly climbed the wall in the process (oh boy, I'm gonna get her!) must have checked the instructions a million times,, "it can't be this small/we must be making a doll's quilt",, this is the first block, only another 8 to go!! It is 4" square,,,, Fiddly!!! Grrrrrr! It will certainly be interesting to see the finished quilt!!!

Well, I am home from nearly a month spent in New Zealand, caught up with one of my daughters and her lovely sons and spent some time driving around the south island.. Some beautiful scenery and lovely weather followed me everywhere.. Got home and have just been playing with my Janome 6600 Memory Craft, it is a huge sewing machine to what I have ever had and is sooooo quiet! Not a lot getting done but am on my way!! This year is going to be great!!
